Frequently asked questions
Honest answers to the questions I hear most. Don't see yours? Ask me during a free consultation.
Getting started
What makes Y2K Fitness different from just going to a gym on my own?
Going to the gym alone means figuring everything out by trial and error, and most people spend months (sometimes years) doing just that. At Y2K Fitness, you get a personalized plan built around your body, goals and lifestyle.
More importantly, you get a partner who's in it with you: checking in, adjusting your program, and holding you accountable between sessions, not just during them.
I've never worked with a personal trainer before. Where do we even start?
We start with a free consultation. No pressure, no sales pitch. We'll talk about your goals, your history with fitness, what's worked, what hasn't, and what your life actually looks like day to day.
From there, I build a plan that fits you, not a generic template. You'll leave that first conversation with clarity, whether or not you decide to train with me.
Do I need to already be in shape to work with you?
Absolutely not. Honestly, the people who benefit most are the ones just starting out or starting over. You don't need to be fit to begin. You just need to be ready to begin. I meet every client exactly where they are.
What does the free consultation include?
It's a real conversation, not a sales presentation. We'll cover your goals, your current fitness level, any injuries or limitations, your schedule, and what you're hoping to achieve.
I'll give you my honest assessment and tell you exactly what I'd recommend. You'll leave with something useful whether you sign up or not.
I've tried getting fit before and it didn't stick. Why would this be different?
Because this time, you won't be doing it alone. Most people don't fall off because they're lazy or undisciplined. They fall off because they don't have the right support, the right plan, or someone who actually holds them accountable. That's exactly what Y2K Fitness is built around.
Training with me
How often will we train together?
That depends on your goals, your schedule and your package. Packages include 4, 8 or 12 sessions a month, which works out to about one to three sessions a week. We'll figure out what works best for you during the consultation and build around your real life, not an ideal version of it.
What if I have an injury or a physical limitation?
This is one of the biggest reasons to work with a trainer. I'll work around your limitations, modify exercises to keep you safe, and in many cases help you build strength that reduces pain over time.
That said, for any serious condition, I always recommend getting cleared by your doctor first.
Do you only train at a gym, or can we train outdoors or at home?
I'm flexible. Whether it's a gym, a park or your living room, we can make it work. The best training environment is the one you'll actually show up to consistently.
Do you work with clients remotely, or only in person?
Both. In-person training is available locally, and I also offer remote coaching for clients who prefer to train on their own schedule with my programming and check-ins. Remote clients get the same level of attention and follow-up, just through a screen.
How does nutrition factor into our work together?
Nutrition is a huge part of the results you'll see. I'll give you practical, sustainable guidance, not a rigid meal plan you'll abandon in two weeks.
We'll talk about your eating habits and your cultural food preferences, and find an approach that actually works for your lifestyle. I'm not here to take away your favorite foods. For ideas, check out the macro-friendly recipes on my Tools page.
The Y2K Promise
What is the Y2K Promise?
The Y2K Promise is my personal commitment to every client. It means I'm not just your trainer during sessions. I'm your partner in between them, too.
I check in, I follow up, I adjust your plan when life happens, and I'm genuinely invested in your progress. You're not a transaction. You're someone I'm committed to showing up for. Read the full Y2K Promise.
What does "10% of fees go to charity" mean? How does that work?
For every training fee I collect, 10% is donated to organizations fighting childhood obesity in underserved communities across America. It's built into the business, not an occasional thing.
When you invest in your health with Y2K Fitness, you're also helping a kid in an underserved community get access to healthier opportunities. Your journey has a ripple effect. See where it goes.
Packages & logistics
How do I know which package is right for me?
Honestly? Start with the free consultation and we'll figure it out together. I'd rather put you in the right package for your goals and budget than oversell you on something you don't need. Every package includes the same coaching and support; the only difference is how often we train. Compare packages.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Life happens, and I get it. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just let me know at least one day before your session, and we'll find another time that works.
How do I get started?
Book your free consultation. It takes about two minutes: fill out a quick form, and we'll find a time to connect. No commitment, no pressure. Just a real conversation about what you want and how to get there.
